What I take from the Watchtower's cunning efforts to keep us away from God and his message the gospel.
by Fernando infrom my experience, by telling us ordinary folk jesus is not our mediator, the watchtower keeps us from a personal relationship with god.
misdirection.. similarly by keeping us away from god's message, the unabridged gospel, the watchtower keeps us blind, ignorant, subservient, passive, docile and captive.
suppression.. because there is a conflict between our "authentic self" and "cult self" mental distress or "cognitive dissonance" arises.

So...why is taking blood essentially viewed as unforgivable by the WT?
by sd-7 inbeen hearing about this 'grey's anatomy' episode, and while i didn't see it, it brought up a question i wanted to throw out there, albeit a long-winded one, as is my usual nature.. the fact that people would rather die than take blood, as if...if they take it, they're doomed for sure to not make the new system--it doesn't make sense to me.
people both in the organization and the bible stories are forgiven for heinous crimes, murder, adultery, child sacrifice, everything up to and including denying jesus altogether.
(let's not forget child molestation and rape, apparently...) so why does it seem like this one act is presented to jws as one that's never to be forgiven?.

The so called 'command' was to abstain from blood and things sacrificed to idols and fornication! As we know people fornicate all the time but it was not the life and death consequence that blood transfusions took on?!?

NLP, Subliminal Messages and the WT Writing Department

while the core concepts of nlp have been largely discredited as new-age pseudo-science, there is no doubt that there is at least some validity to the idea.

Elders need to see things from Jehovah's perspective in a child molestation case
by suavojr inwhile preaching this past saturday 3-16-13 the following conversation took place in my car with an elder from my cong, my wife, a retired sister and myself.. me: addressing my wife i asked her: do you know how is brother (moron) that crashed his car into a fire station while drunk?
wife: don't know.
last thing i heard was that he was in a critical condition.at this point the elder chimes in.. elder: poor guy!

Millions of people have stopped attending religious services in many different denominations, because they have had a change of heart. But the fact that it happens does not prove their former faith to be wrong.
Like SD said this is true but he kinda confirmed that just because someone left the baptist religion to become a JW does not mean that the baptist are wrong?!?
